Keyword Research is a core component of SEM and is used to develop a set of keywords to target for marketing and lead generation or awareness. The term Keyword is synonymous and interchangeable with the word keyphrase and both are key to SEO and PPC. Keywords are typically measured by intent or closeness to the bottom of the funnel – terms used that imply commercial or transactional searches likely to result in business or engagement.
